VEINS TONIC

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

An excellent tonic for the veins is Aesculaforce, a fresh herb preparation made from horse chestnut, sweet clover (also called melilot), witch hazel and arnica. The medicinal value of horse chestnut for the venous circulation has been clinically proved. Witch hazel is also prized for venous problems, and can be used internally and externally. Sweet clover strengthens the capillaries and improves the venous return, and since arnica stimulates the

27 circulation, it is an ideal choice to complement the other fresh herbs.

For morning sickness during pregnancy there are three simple remedies. Nux vomica 4x usually disperses the unpleasant nausea from the first day. In some exceptional cases, if this should prove ineffective, try Ipecacuanha 3x or homoeopathic Apomorphinum 4x. For why should the mother-to-be endure the discomfort of morning sickness for weeks on end, which could mar the joyful anticipation of the coming event, when harmless homoeopathic remedies can make things so much easier?

For a trouble-free pregnancy and confinement it is further advisable to take the calcium preparation Urticalcin, in addition to the fresh herbs already indicated, together with a natural vitamin supplement, such as Multi-Vitamin Capsules or Bio-C-Lozenges.

TWO SOLUTIONS TO CONSIDER

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The inability to have children is often connected with a hormone deficiency. In such cases there are two possibilities that can be pursued. First, the body may be stimulated in such a way that its own production of hormones is improved. On the one hand, this can be achieved through hydrotheraphy, by means of sitz baths (hip baths), alternating hot and cold baths, the Kuhne treatment and similar methods. On the other hand, stimulation of the circulatory system will boost the supply of blood to the abdomen, which in turn will step up the production of hormones and may eventually lead to pregnancy.

For stimulating the circulation remedies such as Aesculaforce, Aesculus hippocastanum and Urticalcin can be of great benefit, especially when supplemented by wheat germ or wheat germ oil (capsules). Although outdoor exercise and deep-breathing in the open air are necessary for the natural regeneration of the body, sporting activities should not be overdone. Rather, one’s whole way of life should be normal and balanced. This is the natural and safe course of action to take first of all.

TREATMENT AND PRECAUTIONS

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

An inflammation of the breast is treated externally as well as internally. For internal treatment Echinaforce has proved to be extremely valuable. The use of arnica tincture and Echinaforce are indicated for external application. Rub them gently on the affected part, alternating between the two remedies. If the area is sensitive, the regular application of warm compresses with mallow or sanicle infusions will achieve faster results. For an even better healing effect, add to the infusion 5-10 drops of Echinaforce and arnica tincture.

Women who are breast-feeding and would like to reduce their milk supply may do so by rubbing the breasts with lavage tincture and taking an infusion of lovage, this herb being excellent for the purpose. In cases of miscarriage or stillbirth the milk will need to be removed with a breast pump until the remedies have decreased the flow. To prevent milk fever and inflammation of the breasts, every effort should be made to stop the production of milk by natural means. We recommend oiling the breasts regularly and, especially, rubbing the nipples with St John’s wort oil or Bio force Cream once or twice a week. This provides the additional benefit of preventing the skin from cracking.

OUR ALL-IMPORTANT CIRCULATION – CONCLUSION

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Thus far we have spoken of only one function of the circulatory system, the supply. But, as in every manufacturing plant, we must also concern ourselves with the waste products the body produces. They must be promptly eliminated if congestions, in other words breakdowns, are to be avoided. The train on its way back to Basel may be compared to our venous system, which is responsible for returning all the waste products resulting from burning-up processes, for example carbon dioxide and uric acid. Some of these waste products are recycled by the liver or eliminated with the help of the kidneys. If this process of transportation becomes obstructed, problems will be inevitable, since the accumulation of waste causes tension and pressure. The train may be derailed and the mail scattered, lying undelivered on the rails. In terms of our body this means the formation of varicose veins.

LYMPHOADENOMA – CAPILLARY SYSTEM

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Looking After our Capillary System Few people may know that the capillary network of the human body consists of 100 million metres (over 62,000 miles) of blood vessels.,This would be two and a half times the circumference of the earth if all the tiny hair-like vessels were put together in one long line. This calculation made by scientists clearly illustrates one of the many wondrous things the Creator put in our bodies. But it is not enough to be familiar with the structure of these tiny vessels; it is equally important to know and understand their functions in the body. The exchange of metabolic waste material, the passing on of carbon dioxide to the venous blood system, and many other functions known and unknown to us, take place in the capillaries.

NATURE DOCTOR – VARIOUS ANTIBIOTICS IN PRACTICE

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The discovery of such antibiotics as penicillin, streptomycin, auro-mycin and others which have come on the market has provided us with very potent medicines against bacterial infection. In the case of dangerous tropical diseases they have been instrumental in saving many lives. However, it is unfortunate that they are being used too frequently for the treatment of minor infections (for example a common sore throat or some other simple inflammation) which could be dealt with equally effectively by more harmless remedies.

This is where the danger lies. In the first place, the body accustoms itself to these substances and the germs develop a resistance or immunity to them until, finally, they prove useless in the fight against them when one’s life is in danger. Secondly, the constant use of antibiotics, in time, harms and destroys the intestinal flora, the useful bacteria present in the intestines.

POLIOMYELITIS – TREATMENT

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Famous physiotherapists, with Sister Kenny in the forefront, have proved that a life can be saved if treatment is given without delay. It is the delay that enables the virus to destroy the nerve cells. Therefore, as soon as the first symptoms become apparent it is of the utmost importance that the patient be made to sweat. Use a steam cabinet, a steam bath, a sauna, a tub bath of gradually increasing temperature (Schlenz bath), or quite simply hot packs; whatever you choose the important thing is to produce copious perspiration – fast. By these means much harm can be avoided and paralysis may well be averted. If Sister Kenny’s treatment had been given, the boy mentioned previously might not have lost his life.

However conservative a doctor may be, he should not close his eyes to the good results obtained by new methods of treating polio. > The very first symptoms should galvanise us into action. They may suggest flu, with excessive tiredness, headaches, aching limbs, vomiting, lack of appetite, etc. Whether polio is diagnosed right away or not is of little importance. These symptoms are sufficient to warrant immediate treatment, the first of which is the above-mentioned inducement of perspiration. The effect will be beneficial even if it is happily discovered later that it was the flu and not polio.

POLIOMYELITIS – INTRODUCTION

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Poliomyelitis is a sinister disease, yet on the whole quite brief. The polio virus is highly infectious and its virulent toxins, if concentrated, are able to attack and destroy the nerve cells, leading to paralysis. The illness itself ordinarily lasts only about 2-3 weeks. The paralysis that follows is actually the disease’s aftermath. It is therefore most important to treat the disease thoroughly and with the minimum of delay. Judging by the letters I keep receiving, it is once more necessary to remind lay people as well as professionals of the fundamental rules regarding the treatment of polio.

Some time ago, a man from central Switzerland told me that his son, a strong and healthy boy, was hospitalised for tests and observation because it was thought he might have polio. Day after day passed without the doctor in charge attempting any treatment, until the first signs of paralysis appeared in the lungs. The boy was then placed in an iron lung, but he died within a few weeks, despite having been so strong and healthy. Let me add that this incident occurred many years ago and would be most unlikely to happen with the modern approach to the disease.

WHOOPING COUGH

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Some people still consider whooping cough to be a minor ailment, giving little thought to the distressing, hacking cough. It is, however, very important to give special attention to whooping cough, since it can cause serious complications if it is not treated properly, and may lead to permanent damage. There are a number of herbal and homoeopathic remedies for whooping cough and parents should not fail to make use of these natural treatments. Although no specific medicine exists that arrests and cures the illness completely in a given time, these remedies can reduce the intensity and duration of the attacks. First, the toxins of the pathogenic organisms have to be eliminated, as in all infectious diseases. It is also useful to do something about the patient’s physical weakness so as not to encourage other infections. Whooping cough is usually followed by another illness, which is why it is important to build up the patient’s general state of health as a prevention. In milder cases, the spasms will disappear after a few days.

MEASLES – REMEDIES FOR CHILDREN

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Children with a weak constitution who have inherited a disposition for tuberculosis and suffer from swollen glands should be treated with the following prophylactic medicines:

Calc phos. 4x alternated with 6x: 2 tablets, three times daily.

Urticalcin. This is even more effective and, if given for several months, can work wonders.

Ars. iod. 4x. This is indicated for thin children who grow fast. It should be taken over a period of several months in alternation with Urticalcin.

Kali phos. 6x. This should be given when the lungs and bron-chials are affected.

Sulph. 4x. This is indicated when, in spite of packs, the rash is slow in breaking out and very mild.

When the disease has subsided the child should not be allowed outside in the cold air right away. Especially in winter, the child should be kept in bed for another week or in a warm but well-ventilated room. Such care is particularly essential for delicate children who could otherwise suffer from complications.
